April
Showers and May Flowers
One
spring day April Showers looked down at the roses, tulips, irises,
and other flowers, and they became jealous. "You are beloved
and get to enjoy the summer," April Showers said. "And
what did you do to deserve it? Nothing."
"We
owe it all to you," said a tulip. "You should be happy
for us."
"I
can't wait for the cold to arrive in fall and ruin you. Or perhaps
a good flood is what you need," April Showers said.
At
that moment a rose turned to an iris and asked, "If our
creators are this cruel, how can we believe that we are beautiful?"
