The Bulls
and the Homecoming Parade
One day a herd of bulls
was running down a street when they crossed paths with a homecoming
parade. As they watched the marching band, the cheerleaders,
the dance team, and the amateur floats pass by, the bulls became
irritated with the parade blocking their path. "Let's rip
this parade in two," a bull said, as the other bulls grunted
and scraped their hooves against the pavement.
Just as they were about
to trample the parade, the bulls noticed an old man who was sleeping
in a lawn chair. His wrinkled face and the rashes on his balding
head displayed his years of hard work. As the bulls watched the
old man nap, they decided not to disturb him. So they tiptoed
quietly across the street, in front of a pickup truck carrying
the football team, which was tossing candy and crude jokes at
the children.
