One day a mother hen walked through an art festival with her chicks. "Look at the cow's landscape," one chick observed while staring at a painting. "It's awful."

"Who are you to criticize?" the mother hen snapped. "I would like to see you do better."

The chick cowered. A minute later another hen walked up behind the family. "Hello, dear friend," the hen said. "Did you happen to catch the cow's ugly work? What a joke."

"Yes, I did," the mother hen said with a smile. "It is quite horrid."
