Deep in the Warlin Forest, three elves, Hewlin, Drosj, and Frase, were playing on a hill. They yelled and tackled each other until Hewlin dropped on his back, kicked the heel of his green and silver boot off, and then using his foot, flipped his boot high in the air.

Immediately Drosj and Frase flopped to the ground and imitated him, flipping their boots randomly and then retrieving them. Then Drosj challenged them to a contest. "I can flip my boot higher than you two can," he said.

So the three elves flipped their boots as high as they could until Drosj, provoked by his pride, flipped his boot so high that it was caught in a giant branch of an Iolp tree, where it was lost to him forever.
