The Giant
and The Dwarf
Two loyal friends,
a giant and a dwarf, went to a festival one summer day and entered
a three-legged sack race. Leaving their competitors far behind,
they won the race and accepted a large blueberry pie for first
prize. "I will cut the pie in half," the giant said,
as they sat on a hill overlooking the foot races and carnival
games. "So we each get our fair share."
"No, no,"
the dwarf said. "Half a pie will not even whet your appetite,
while a small portion will fill my belly for the evening. You
need to eat most of it."
So the smiling giant
broke off a small piece of pie for his friend, and they each
enjoyed their share of the pie and their share of the rest of
the sunny day.
