The Man
and the Dog
One afternoon an antique
dealer, who was carrying a box of fine china, walked down the
sidewalk with his loyal dog, Captain, at his side. As they approached
their home, Captain ran in circles and barked furiously. "Stop
that!" the dealer yelled, after he looked around, seeing
only two joggers in the distance and an elderly man watering
his lawn. "There's nothing to be afraid of, you stupid dog."
Then, as Captain's
barks echoed through the street, an earthquake hit and the land
thundered, causing the dealer to stumble and drop his china,
which landed on the cement, shattering in hundreds of pieces.
