The Piggy
Bank
A piggy bank was tired
of its life sitting on a girl's dresser, so it escaped through
an open window and raced to the city where it flipped over, poured
money out of its body, and began to entertain itself. First it
went to the amusement park, where it sampled every ride and devoured
every treat, including snowcones, elephant ears, and cotton candy.
Then it shopped at the mall and purchased a radio, a television,
a telephone, and several expensive suits.
The girl, who was upset
about her missing piggy bank, rode her bike around the city looking
for it. As the sun lowered in the sky, the girl spotted the piggy
bank lying outside a buffet restaurant, with its belly sticking
out of its shirt and a depressed look on its face. When the girl
rode over to the bank, it said, "I'm sorry. All your money
is gone, but I am still miserable. Never indulge yourself. Save
your money and give it to those who need it. That will be rewarding
for you."
"Thanks,"
the girl said. "That is what I was planning on doing until
you spent all of my savings."
