Satan
and the Snowman
There
once was a snowman who believed he was too fat, and didn't care
for life. The snowman tried expressing his emotions to his creator,
a boy, but every time the boy came out to play, he never responded
to the snowman's cries for help. Then one day, when the snowman
broke down and sobbed, Satan appeared, with his red body shining
off the snow and his tail twirling in the light breeze. "I
can hear you," he whispered to the snowman.
"Then
will you help me?" the snowman asked.
"Of
course, my friend," Satan replied.
Then
Satan put his right arm around the snowman, and the snowman slowly
began to melt. At first the snowman was relieved to see his body
change. But he continued to melt until he became a puddle in
which floated two buttons, a carrot, and a scarf. Then Satan
quietly disappeared.
Soon
the boy came out of his home, and after seeing the puddle, he
rebuilt the snowman. Adding extra snow for security, he made
it the biggest snowman in the city. And from that day forward,
the snowman was happy to be alive and, in part, he began to understand
his creator.
