One day a squirrel was climbing a tree. She tested different branches, and when she fell off one, she quickly latched on to another. Near the top of the tree a long branch extended far out, with nothing below it. The squirrel wanted to climb the long branch, but it looked frail, and she was scared that it wouldn't hold her. She kept climbing the tree until she saw a hawk land on the long branch. As the hawk perched on the branch, the squirrel said to herself, "The hawk is bigger than I am, so if the branch can hold her, it can definitely hold me."
After the hawk flew away, the squirrel raced over to the branch. But the hawk's weight weakened the branch, and when the squirrel sat on it, the branch broke, causing the poor squirrel to fall to her death.
